CUMI produces the silicon carbide crude and grains in India and Russia using the Acheson process. Its product range comprises black and green silicon carbide, which it offers in a wide array of grain sizes. Especially interesting for ceramic engineering are ultra-fine powder types with sub-micron grain sizes. It is particularly used in the production of high-stress components such as slide rings, slide bearings, rolls, pumps and nozzles. KRAHN CHEMIE also delivers CUMI’s standard micro powders with sizes according to international standards such as FEPA and JIS.
Ananthaseshan, Sr. Vice President and Head of the Electromineral Business at CUMI said of the collaboration: “KRAHN CHEMIE’s role as distributor is unique in that it already has many years of experience in the ceramic engineering market. KRAHN CHEMIE therefore knows the customers and their requirements, and boasts in-depth product expertise.”
“What sets CUMI apart is its own production of crude silicon carbide, its state-of-the-art production facilities for the fine powder processing plus their excellent R&D capabilities,” explained Dr. Stefan Stolz, Business Segment Manager Technical Ceramics at KRAHN CHEMIE.
In addition to silicon carbide powders, KRAHN CHEMIE also supplies the advanced ceramics industry with zirconium oxide, aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride and titanium dioxide powders.
