Lincol BCF (Butyl Carbitol Formal) is a special plasticizer used in rubber industry. Lincol BCF is designed to obtain highly resistant elastomers and to give flexibility at low temperature to a wide variety of molded extruded products. Lincol BCF can be used with any other plasticizer and is compatible with nearly all elastomers, such as polychloroprene and nitrile up to 50 phr, but also with natural rubber, SBR, and EPDM. Lincol BCF is relatively volatile and may be extracted by water-based media, so for critical applications, where minimal change in physical properties during service is required, the use of a different plasticizer is recommended.
