Lubricants are highly susceptible to aging. The additives of the Additin® Antioxidants (AO) range dramatically slow down the aging process with all its negative side-effects.
Antioxidants perform well in nearly all lubricants and fuels. De-pending on the temperature of a given application, phenolic or aminic formulations, or mixtures of both, may be recom-mended.
All products in the Additin® AO range are primary antioxidants that function as radical scavengers to stop the aging process before it reaches a critical stage. Synergies can be achieved in combination with special AW, CI and EP Additin® grades.

Additin RC 7010
Additin RC 7010 is an extremely high temperature stable aminic antioxidant.
Additin RC 7010 is preferably used in polar base oils such as polyglycols, synthetic esters or brake fluids. and provides twofold content of active components in comparison to other alkylated diphenylamines. This results in a very high efficiency, which is demonstreated in e.g. RBOT test (ASTM D 2272). The polymeric structure of Additin RC 7010 is very advantageous with regard to high temperature stability and effectivity and contributes to an extraordinary long term stabilisation of lubricants.

Additin RC 7110
Additin RC 7110 is a crystalline antioxidant belonging to the group of sterically hindered, nondiscolouring phenols. The field of application of this universal oxidation inhibitor includes most types of lubricants. Limitations are given by the long term oil temperature which should not exceed 90°C in open and 120°C in closed systems.
Additin RC 7110 is registered at NSF as an ingredient in lubricants with incidental direct food contact (HX-1) for use in and around food processing areas. Additionally Additin RC 7110 can be applied for processes with indirect food contacts.
Additin RC 7110 is in compliance with § 178.3570 according to U.S. Food and Drug administration regulations (lubricants with incidental food contact). The stabilising effect of RC 7110 on vegetable and animal fats well-known in food industry. For this reason and from field experience Additin RC 7110 is recommended to stabilise biodegradable lubricants such as rapeseed oil and synthetic esters.
The chemical purity of Additin RC 7110 meets food grade quality.
Additin RC 7110 is not qualified for food stuff, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and animal feed.
In case of applications requesting
- microbiological purity or
- HACCP or GMP requirements
Additin RC 7110 FG should be used.
The combination of Additin RC 7110 with aminic antioxidants, e.g. Additin RC 7135 and/or copper deactivators, e.g. Additin RC 8221, is leading to more extensive oxidation inhibiting properties.

Additin RC 7115
Additin RC 7115 is a non-discolouring, highly effective antioxidant with broad applicabability. The superior effectiveness over other mono- and dimeric phenolic antioxidants is related to the unique chemical structure of Additin RC 7115. It is not only a radical scavenger but is, at the same time, able to deactivate catalytically active, dissolved copper by complexation. Due to the high molecular weight, Additin RC 7115 has a low evaporation tendency and is therefore very well suited for high temperature applications. By combining Additin RC 7115 with aminic antioxidants, e.g. Additin RC 7130, RC 7135 or copper deactivators, e.g. Additin RC 8221, the oxidation inhibition properties of
Additin RC 7115 can be further increased.

Additin RC 7130
Additin RC 7130 is an extremely effective aminic antioxidant with a broad field of application. The extraordinary oxidation inhibiting properties of Additin RC 7130 at low treat rates may be visualised e.g. by the rotating bomb test ASTM-D 2272 in comparison to other primary antioxidants. High purity and very low filter residue are attributed to a superior quality of Additin RC 7130.
On exposure to light, lubricants containing Additin RC 7130 can undergo discolouration. However, this does not impair the antioxidant effect.

Additin RC 7132
Additin RC 7132 is a highly effective, easy to handle aminic antioxidant of universal use. In contrast to other aminic antioxidants, e.g. Diphenyleneamine derivatives, Additin RC 7132 exhibits better oxidation inhibition and less sludge formation at low treat level.
Additin RC 7132 offers excellent performance at very low treat level in mineral oils and non-polar synthetic fluids (e.g. PAO or hydrocrack oils).
Additin RC 7132 shows very good solubility in ester oils, which makes it suitable for use as antioxidant booster in mixtures of ester oils and mineral oils resp. synthetic fluids.

Additin RC 7135 LD
Additin RC 7135 LD is a liquid aminic antioxidant to be widely used in many lubricant applications. The life time of lubricants can be extended by the addition of RC 7135 LD. (proven in oxidation tests such as TOST (ASTM-D 943) and RBOT (ASTM-D 2272)). An outstanding feature of Additin RC 7135 LD versus other aminic antioxidants such as nonylated diphenylamine is the low sludge and carbon residue formation during the oxidation process. Due to the high molecular weight, the volatility of Additin RC 7135 LD is lower than those of other aminic and phenolic antioxidants. As a result Additin RC 7135 LD can be applied very well for high temperature applications. Combinations of Additin RC 7135 LD e.g. with the phenolic antioxidant Additin RC 7115, and / or Copper deactivators such as Additin RC 8221 show synergistic effects and help to increase the oxidation stability. Please note that Lubricants formulated with Additin RC 7135 LD may discolor in use. This has no negative effect on the lubricant characteristics and performance.
