KRAHN Chemie obtains distribution rights for eco-friendly binders from Ecoat in Italy

After a successful implementation of the sales region Poland in May 2020 as well as the extension to Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania in July 2021, the KRAHN Chemie Group and Ecoat have again expanded their cooperation.

From now on, KRAHN Chemie will take over the distribution of the bio-based and water-based binders for the paint industry in Italy. The cooperation with Ecoat, based in Grasse, France, started in January 2020 and at that time already included the sales regions Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

Ecoat is a specialist developer of competitive and high-performance products for the coatings industry, not only tailoring their products to the needs of the market, but also ensuring they contain as many bio-based or renewable ingredients as possible. Both a range of partially bio-based alkyd emulsions as well as alkyd urethane dispersions are covered by the agreement. The SecoiaTM product range covers bio-based alkyd emulsions, which are especially featured in architectural and wood paints. Aqueous alkyd emulsions, which are mainly used in environmentally friendly decorative coatings, as well as alkyd-urethane dispersions, which are especially used for decorative wood and metal coatings, are sold under the brand name InokemTM UR.

“The extension of our cooperation to several other European sales regions during the last months has shown us once again that we made the right decision to collaborate with our entrusted partner Ecoat. We are delighted to also offer our Italian customers the products of a supplier with outstanding technical capabilities. Ecoat’s outlook on sustainability and their extensive portfolio now help us make an important statement in the Italian market, where sustainability has already become a significant factor,” says Enrico Bozzi, Managing Director of KRAHN Italia.

Nicolas Florent, General Manager and Business Director at Ecoat, adds: “KRAHN is an experienced partner with outstanding technical expertise regarding the paints and coatings industry. They keep convincing us that they deliver special added value to our customers from different countries. I am looking forward to our customers from Italy benefitting from KRAHN’s expertise and market proximity.”

The Secoia™ binders from Ecoat allow the formulation of a coating which is as durable as its namesake, the sequoia tree.
