Sumitomo EPDM

Sumitomo Chemical Co.

Ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer (EPDM) is classified as polymer with saturated hydrocarbon chains with an excellent resistance to weather influences (e.g. UV radiation, ozone, heat and humidity) and it is mostly resistant to acid and bases. Sumitomo EPDM uses mostly ENB diene components but also DCPD components. It has an ethylene content between 50 and 70 %, a diene content of 3,5 to 10,5 % and a mooney viscosity (ML 1+4 125°C) of 31-116. EPDM is used in the automotive, construction and electronic industry and for technical rubber goods.
