Lo-Vel™ flatting agents are designed to reduce gloss in paints while providing lower viscosity and better stir-in capability. Lo-Vel™ flatting agents are available as wax-treated and non-treated products. Wax-treated silicas improve dispersion stability and anti-settling behavior in mostly polar solvent and waterborne coatings systems. Non-treated Lo-Vel™ flatting agents are recommended for mostly non-polar solvent coatings systems, such as lacquers, and when the transparency of a coating is critical.
