Zinc-free calcium modified silica gels have been developed specifically for thin-film applications. Because of their slightly porous surface structure and quite large relative surface area, there are no changes in pigment structure within the film even in weather-exposed applications. Consequently, the formula prevents defects, reduces blistering and increases the diffusion barrier, helping to achieve long-term protection against corrosion.
